How do I reload during MultiPlayer games?

Cntrl+M  Cntrl+F "cheats" for Reload and Refuel do not work in online games. To get resupplied with ammo, fuel, chaff and flares you have 3 choices.

(1) Fly to the Resupply Nav point.  Press Enter key till your HUD is in NAV mode, press N and you should see either RESUPPLY, WPT 1 or the current games resupply point.  You'll see a hollow TRIANGLE in your HUD that indicates the Resupply point, and you'll see the distance and heading bug (HUD compass triangle) pointing towards the waypoint.  Example   The resupply point will also show up as a green circle on the Map (M) or the Nav Chart (Alt+M). Example

(2) Land at an airport.  You can use the Nav Chart (Alt+M) to find nearby airfields.  HINT:  Landing at an airport will often give you a larger resupply of cannon shells - very good option for "Guns Only" games.  Example

(3) Eject or crash your airplane. (its usually considered bad form to eject/crash ONLY to reload or to avoid being shot down by someone in the game)

Why cant I find online games to join?

First of all make sure you're connected to the internet! If that wasn't the problem its likely that at the moment your checking no one is hosting a game.  There are no 24/7 game servers running. No game will show till another JF4 player to decides he wants to Host and creates a game. Try hosting a game yourself or check back at the busy times - usually between 4pm and 11pm. Check the E-Team-USA main page at the bottom for regularly scheduled games.

How Do I Chat in Online Games

Use the K key to open a chat box that will broadcast your message to everyone in the game. You can also use the Cntrl+M message menu to send a private or broadcast message or use your "Taunts"

Set up the Taunts on your Pilot Profile

How Do I change Aircraft/Loadout in MP Games

The Mulitplayer menu doesn't have anywhere to change your aircraft type and loadout choices.  It will use whatever aircraft/loadout you most recently used in JF4.  To change those choices the easies way to do that is choose from the Main Menu - Instant Action > Single Mission > Free Flight.  Use the Loadout option to change aircraft and weapons load you want.  Then use the Exit button and go back to the Main Menu.  Now when you enter the Multiplayer menu you'll have the aircraft and weapons load that you want.

No one ever joins my online game.  Why?

First of all make sure you're connected to the internet! If that wasn't the problem its likely that people are trying to enter you game but cant.  In this example no one is ignoring "Plz join this game".  They're probably seeing a "waiting for server" or "timeout message like this when they try to enter.  There is a way to check and see if anyone is trying to join your games.  You'll need to edit the jf4.ini file (or jf4 Configuration Settings and find the line that says simDebugOutput=  Change the Zero to 1 and save the file.  This change will dump more information into the debug.txt file when you next run the game.  Now when you try hosting a game you should see people trying to join your game in the debug.txt file.  It could be that you have your PCs firewall set so you cant host JF4.  Test host a game with your firewall turned off during the test.  Many firewalls allow you to customize settings so you could run your firewall and host a JF4 game.

More than likely that error is caused when a player with DSL tried to host a game.  Either that player is behind a network router (home network setup).  Or it could be that the DSL settings need to be adjusted (when the player has a PC + DSL modem as the only hardware involved).  Check out this link on how to solve the DSL hosting problem for single PCs
